Chemical Engineering students, alumni, faculty, and staff celebrated a year of significant achievement and the department’s 80thAnniversary at the Spring Banquet held on Friday, April 12, 2019.
“This has been an incredible year! Our students, alumni, faculty, and staff have received department, college, and professional awards,” said Carlos M. Rinaldi-Ramos, Ph.D., Department Chair and Dean’s Leadership Professor. “In addition to many student awards, our AIChE student chapter won the Outstanding Chapter Award for the second year, and the ChE Car Team placed fifth at the Regional meeting and qualified to compete at the national meeting in Orlando this Fall. We are very proud of the work they’re doing.”
The department enjoyed a delicious dinner, an engaging game of faculty trivia, and poetic game of pass the gift. Inspiring speeches were conveyed by graduating senior and AIChE president, Gabriella Segovia, and Ph.D. candidate, Mythreyi Unni.
The event was capped off with the presentation of merit awards.
