Each student works with a faculty advisor to develop an individualized plan of study based on their academic background and previous coursework.

Depending on their preparation, students may complete foundational coursework in areas such as material and energy balances, transport phenomena, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, process control, and separation processes.
